Menstrual Cycle Characteristics, Premenstrual Syndrome, and Anxiety in Midwifery Student Infected and Not Infected with COVID-19: A Comparative Study

Objective: Periods of crisis, fear, and stress target hypothalamic-gonadal axis women in reproductive age can have an impact on menstrual symptoms. This study was conducted to evaluate cycle, premenstrual syndrome anxiety midwifery students with or without COVID-19 disease.Methods: In this descriptive comparative study, 216 young girls infected the last 6 months were compared 634 students, who not yet. “Personal Description Form”, “Premenstrual Syndrome Scale (PMSS)” “State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI)” used collect data. Results: it determined that mean scores PMSS STAI had disease higher than those did not. It difference between statistically significant, while significant. The prolongation two cycle intervals reduction bleeding found be significant.Conclusion: addition, revealed being diagnosed increased symptoms levels single girls.
